London: Alex Apau Dadey, the Executive Chairman of KGL Group, has been celebrated with the Forbes Best of Africa Corporate Leadership and Innovation Award at a Leadership and Philanthropy Forum held at the House of Lords in London.
According to Ghana News Agency, the award was formally presented by Mark A. Furlong, President of Custom Solutions Media for Forbes Media, who acknowledged Mr. Dadey's achievements in advancing KGL Group's technological prowess. During the presentation, Mr. Furlong remarked, "On behalf of the Forbes Best of Africa Award Committee, it is my honour to present to you the Forbes Best of Africa Corporate Leadership and Innovation Award."
The official citation highlighted Mr. Dadey's leadership, noting his success in expanding KGL Group into digital solutions, fintech, and technology-driven platforms. These efforts have transformed Ghana's lottery and gaming industry while promoting financial inclusion. Under his guidance, KGL Group has emerged as a leading African corporate brand known for innovation, social impact, and sustainable business practices.
Receiving the award with his family, Mr. Dadey expressed his appreciation, stating, "I am truly humbled by this recognition. My sincere gratitude goes to the Forbes team for this honour, and to the extraordinary team at KGL Group, including our Board, Management, and Staff, whose dedication has made this possible. I want to encourage all Africans in the diaspora to return home and contribute their knowledge to building the continent."
He shared his personal journey, reflecting on his decision to return to Ghana after living in London for over 20 years. "Ten years on, I am proud to have built one of Ghana's most successful technology-driven businesses, and I am honoured that Forbes recognizes this journey," he added.
The Forbes Best of Africa Awards celebrate business leaders who contribute significantly to Africa's economic and social development. Other honorees included Dr. Olasupo Olusi, Managing Director and CEO of Nigeria's Bank of Industry, and Prince Nnamdi Ekeh, Group CEO of Konga, known for advancing e-commerce and digital infrastructure.
In addition to his leadership at KGL Group, Mr. Dadey has significantly impacted Corporate Social Responsibility and Corporate Social Investment projects in Ghana. His contributions include sponsoring the Ghana Black Stars for the 2026 World Cup qualification, constructing a mental health facility in partnership with Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, supplying incubators to hospitals, and supporting various charitable causes.
KGL Group is also taking steps to partner with the Ghana Medical Trust Fund, a key initiative of President John Mahama aimed at providing financial assistance for individuals with chronic diseases.
