Atebubu: Three ‘Keep Fit Clubs’ in Atebubu, located in the Bono East Region, have unified to form the ‘Atebubu Fitness Club,’ aiming to enhance the physical health and wellbeing of both formal and informal sector workers, thereby boosting productivity in the region.
According to Ghana News Agency, the newly established club consists of 127 registered members from various professional backgrounds. It plans to organize regular physical exercise sessions and work towards reinforcing the existing peace in the community. During the club’s launch event in Atebubu, which was marked by a dinner, Mr. Bless Agbodza, a founding member, emphasized the club’s commitment to promoting physical fitness and social cohesion to ensure peaceful co-existence.
The club members also participated in a route march, showcasing their unity as they paraded through the main streets of Atebubu Township. Mr. Baffour Gyan, another founding member, highlighted the club’s vision of mutual support in times of need, encouraging members to stay dedicated to the club’s activities.
Mr. Peter Denteh, an executive member, expressed that the collaboration was a realization of their aspirations, and welcomed everyone to join in improving their physical health. The event was graced by dignitaries including Mr. Kofi Amoakohene, a former Member of Parliament for Atebubu Amantin, Nanaba Owusu Afriyie, the Benkumhene of the Atebubu Traditional Area, and Mr. Adam Musah, the 2024 Atebubu/Amantin Municipal Best Farmer.
