Tunis: Italy will keep on supporting enewable energy projects in Tunisia and will endeavour to implement new projects over the next period, said Advisor to Italian Prime Minister Lorenzo Ortona during his meeting on Monday with Minister of Industry, Mines and Energy Fatma Thabet Chiboub.The prospects for bilateral cooperation, notably in the sectors of renewable energy and green hydrogen and its derivatives, and fostering partnership with Italian companies to make the most of their expertise were discussed during the meeting, a ministry press release said.Chiboub underlined the need to develop the production of renewable energy and green hydrogen in order to reduce carbon dioxide emissions and make the transition to a low-carbon green economy.The meeting was attended by a delegation from Italian energy companies ENI and Enel Green Power, the Italian Ambassador to Tunisia and the Secretary of State for Energy Transition.Source: Agence Tunis Afrique Presse
