IGP Engages Special Operations Team, Reaffirms Security in Bole

Bole: Mr Christian Tetteh Yohonu, the Inspector General of Police (IGP), has asked police personnel to remain professional, disciplined, and committed to their operational duties. He emphasised the need for vigilance, proactive policing, and strong ethical conduct, stressing the importance of teamwork in ensuring lasting peace in the Savannah Region. Mr Yohonu said this when he engaged with the Special Operational Team deployed to Bole for the maintenance of peace, law, and order, who embarked on a strategic visit to the Savannah Regional Police Headquarters at Damongo.

According to Ghana News Agency, the IGP encouraged the team to liaise effectively with other security agencies to enhance inter-agency collaboration, a statement issued by the Ghana Police Service said on Monday. He highlighted the importance of fostering unity, improving coordination, and ensuring time efficiency in joint efforts to maintain law and order. The IGP directed the team to intensify daily patrols, particularly in the boundary areas of Bole, where displacement had occurred. Special attention is to be given to securing areas.

The Special Operational Team returned to Bole, after the meeting, for their routine operations, which include community patrols, intelligence gathering, and conflict prevention efforts. The presence and continued operations of the team has, so far, contributed significantly to maintaining order and restoring public confidence in the area.
