Four Schools Compete in Constitution Quiz to Celebrate Independence Day at Pusiga District

Pusiga: Four Junior High Schools in the Pusiga District of the Upper East Region participated in a quiz competition focused on the country's 1992 Constitution. The event was held to mark the 68th Independence Day celebrations.

According to Ghana News Agency, the Civic Education Clubs from Pusiga JHS 'B', Gbewah JHS, Pusiga Girls Model JHS, and Hidayatol JHS joined the competition. Organized by the Pusiga District Directorate of the National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE), the quiz aimed to promote understanding of the 1992 Constitution among students in an engaging way.

Mr. Yakubu Seidu, the Pusiga District Director of NCCE, addressed the participants during the event in Pusiga. He encouraged members of the Civic Education Clubs to utilize the NCCE's Ghana Constitution Game Board. This initiative is intended to motivate other students to join the clubs and enhance their knowledge of the Constitution.

The competition concluded with Gbewah JHS securing the first position, followed by Pusiga Model JHS. Pusiga JHS 'B' took third place, and Hidayatol JHS came in fourth. The schools received certificates, NCCE Constitution Game Boards, copies of the Constitution, exercise books, and pens as prizes.

Mr. Apusiga Junaid, Patron of Gbewah JHS, expressed gratitude to the NCCE on behalf of the participating schools. He urged the NCCE to consider expanding the initiative to other basic schools in the district.
