Former President Akufo-Addo and NPP Leaders Pay Respects to Lumba Family

Accra: Former President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo led a delegation to express condolences to the family of the late Charles Kwadwo Fosu at their residence in East Legon. The visit took place on Friday at around 2:30 pm, with the former Chief of Staff, Frema Osei-Opare, and other prominent members of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) accompanying him.

According to Ghana News Agency, the former President and his team were received by the family, where they exchanged greetings and signed the Book of Condolence. Mr. Akufo-Addo praised the contributions and lasting impact of Daddy Lumba, who was known for composing the NPP campaign song 'Nana Winner' in 2008. He conveyed the party's gratitude and assured the family of their support during this period.

In a previous statement, Mr. Akufo-Addo paid homage to the 'Ankwanoma' hitmaker, highlighting his status as a significant figure in the music industry. The delegation was composed of various notable NPP figures, including Minority Leader Mr. Afenyo Markin, MPs Mr. Vincent Ekow Assafua, Mr. Samuel Awuku, and others such as former ministers and party officials.

Nana Kofi Owusu, the family head, expressed appreciation for the visit and indicated that further details regarding arrangements would be shared soon.
