Accra: Ada Traditional Council has expressed sorrow over the August 6, 2025, military helicopter crash that killed eight government officials and security personnel.
According to Ghana News Agency, in a message signed by its Registrar, Mr. Ebenezer C. Mettle-Nunoo, the Maklalo, Nene Aguddey Obitchere, conveyed condolences on behalf of Djetse, Nene Abram Kabu Akuaku III, Paramount Chief of the Ada Traditional Area and President of the Ada Traditional Council, together with the chiefs, queen mothers, and people of the Ada Traditional Area.
The message stated that the community was shocked and heartbroken upon hearing of the tragedy that befell the occupants of the Ghana Armed Forces' Z9 helicopter en route to Obuasi, resulting in the untimely deaths of eight gallant heroes in the line of duty.
Describing the event as one that had plunged the country into total darkness and national mourning, the Council paid tribute to the deceased ministers, government officials, and service personnel, whose voices it said have been muted forever.
The statement assured President John Dramani Mahama and the affected families of the Council's prayers for God Almighty and Allah's grace, mercy, and comfort during this period of grief.
'May the good Lord and Allah comfort you and all Ghanaians,' it added.
