Former AU Chairperson Extends Condolences to Ghana Following Tragic Helicopter Crash

Accra: Dr. Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma, the Former Chairperson of the African Union Commission, has expressed condolences to the president and people of Ghana and bereaved families of the victims of the August 6, 2025 military helicopter crash that claimed eight lives.

According to Ghana News Agency, Dr. Dlamini-Zuma, in a statement, expressed profound shock and deep sorrow upon receiving news of the tragic helicopter crash in the Republic of Ghana. The crash resulted in the loss of ministers, high-ranking government officials, and other esteemed individuals. She emphasized that the loss is not only felt by Ghana but by the entire African continent, as the victims were considered "sons of Africa."

Dr. Dlamini-Zuma extended her deepest condolences to the bereaved families, the president, and the people of Ghana, noting that Africans share in their pain. She highlighted the dedication of those lost, stating they died as heroes of Africa, and assured that their names will be remembered as part of the continent's legacy. "May their souls rest in eternal peace," she concluded.
