Mombasa: Eleven people have died in a plane crash in Kenya, including eight Hungarian nationals and two Germans. The Kenyan pilot was also among the dead, the Mombasa Air Safari airline said on Tuesday. There were no survivors.
According to Ghana News Agency, the Cessna 208 Caravan was on its way to the famous Masai Mara National Park. It took off in the early morning in the Kwale district in southern Kenya and crashed shortly afterwards around 40 kilometres outside the coastal town of Mombasa, the Kenyan Civil Aviation Authority said.
Investigations have been launched to determine the cause of the accident. Mombasa Air Safari specializes in transporting tourists between the sandy beaches of Kenya's east coast and safari destinations in the northern parts of the country. The destination is often the Masai Mara National Park.
