DORMAA-AHENKRO: Residents of Dormaa-Ahenkro in the Bono Region marked the New Year with a combination of religious services and vibrant fireworks displays. Worship centers in the area were filled to capacity as congregants gathered to express gratitude for the past year and seek divine blessings for the year ahead.
According to Ghana News Agency, as the clock struck midnight, worshippers at the Christian Praise International Church and other local churches engaged in jubilant singing and thanksgiving. The Reverend Seth Twum Barimah, the Head Pastor of the church, inspired attendees with assurances of divine plans for their lives in the coming year. He emphasized the importance of prayer, sanctification, and adherence to Christian teachings as the means to realize these plans.
The celebrations extended beyond the church walls, as the main streets of Dormaa-Ahenkro came alive with spontaneous fireworks displays. Despite the lively atmosphere outside, the Ghana News Agency observed that major drinking spots and pubs in the town remained notably quiet and sparsely attended during the festivities.
