TAMALE: President-elect John Dramani Mahama, alongside his wife, Lordina, attended a New Year’s Eve service at the Sanctuary of Wind and Fire Assemblies of God Church in Tamale. The couple was accompanied by prominent members of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), including Haruna Iddrisu and Alhassan Suhuyini, both Members of Parliament representing Tamale South and North, respectively.
According to Ghana News Agency, Mr. Mahama took part in the service by singing a song to express gratitude for the peaceful elections held in December. In a gesture of thanksgiving, he fulfilled a previous commitment by donating an undisclosed sum of money to the church. This act of giving was in line with a pledge he made during a worship service with the congregation the previous year.
The service was led by Rev. Aaron Lambon Fant, the Head Pastor, who encouraged the congregation to embrace the new year with thankfulness, emphasizing the sufficiency of divine grace to overcome challenges. He conveyed a message of perseverance, stating, “Every mountain is surmountable. Life is a journey that requires the walk of faith and patience to get to your destination.”
