Accra: The Ministry of Communication, Digital Technology and Innovations is set to investigate a cyber breach that has impacted approximately 5,700 MTN customers in Ghana.
According to Ghana News Agency, a statement from the Ministry revealed that it is collaborating with the Cyber Security Authority (CSA), National Communications Authority (NCA), and Data Protection Commission (DPC) to evaluate the potential breach. This joint effort aims to determine the scope of the breach and establish measures to safeguard customer data.
The statement emphasized that the Ministry is actively working to ascertain whether there have been any lapses on the part of the Mobile Network Operator. It also assured that affected customers would be contacted in compliance with data protection regulations.
The Ministry has urged the public to stay calm as it continues to address the issue and promises to provide timely updates on the situation.
