Collins Asomah Receives Unanimous Endorsement as Berekum West DCE

Berekum: The 27-member Assembly has unanimously endorsed President Nominee, Mr. Collins Asomah, as the Berekum West District Chief Executive (DCE) in the Bono Region. The election, conducted and supervised by officials of the Electoral Commission, took place at Jinijini, the district capital, with Mr. Asomah receiving 100 percent of the votes.

According to Ghana News Agency, in his acceptance speech, Mr. Asomah noted that his overwhelming confirmation was a testament to the Assembly's readiness to advance the holistic development of the district. He expressed gratitude to the Assembly Members for their confidence in him and pledged to serve with humility and dedication. Mr. Asomah also thanked President John Dramani Mahama and the National Democratic Congress (NDC) for the opportunity to serve in the government.

Mr. Asomah emphasized the importance of peace and unity in elevating the district's development, expressing his willingness to collaborate with all stakeholders, including traditional authorities and Assembly Members, regardless of their backgrounds. He urged the community to set aside political differences, unite, and address the district's emerging developmental needs.

Mr. Joseph Addai Akwaboa, the Bono Regional Minister, extended his congratulations to the newly endorsed DCE, urging him to diligently work to justify the trust placed in him. He highlighted the government's commitment to combating corruption and illegal mining activities, urging the DCE to collaborate in these efforts. Mr. Akwaboa cautioned that illegal miners would face prosecution and encouraged the community to report any suspicious illegal mining activities to the Assembly or security operatives.
