Clash Between Timber Gangs Results in Three Deaths at Breme

Breme: A clash between two timber operating gangs ended in fatalities at Breme, a forest fringe community near Bechem in the Tano South Municipality of the Ahafo Region. The police confirmed that three individuals were shot dead during the altercation between gangs from Bechem and Pokukrom-Aherewamu in the Ashanti Region. The incident occurred around 1400 hours on Wednesday, March 19, 2025.

According to Ghana News Agency, Chief Superintendent Joseph Oppong, the Tano South Divisional Police Commander, stated that the bodies of the deceased have been deposited at the Duayaw-Nkwanta St John of God Hospital mortuary. The deceased individuals have been identified as CK Abass, also known as 'Keden,' Junior, alias 'Y Pee,' and one other who is yet to be identified.

Chief Superintendent Oppong noted that the case has been referred to the Ahafo Regional Police Command for further investigation. The Ghana News Agency reported that the clash was triggered by a disagreement over a reserved forest in the area. However, police reinforcements have since restored calm to the Breme community.
