Tamale: The Centre for National Culture has organised a drama in Tamale to educate and inspire members of the public on the importance of holding peaceful elections. The event, titled 'Theatre for Peaceful Elections 2024', aimed to highlight the role of citizens in fostering a violence-free electoral process.According to Ghana News Agency, Mr. Abubakari Iddisu Saeed, the Northern Regional Director of the Centre for National Culture, emphasized during the event that the drama served as a call to action for all citizens to work towards violence-free elections. He noted that the performance addressed several critical challenges facing the country's democracy, including electoral violence, the spread of fake news, vote-buying, and the need for religious tolerance.Mr. Saeed urged citizens to unite during and after the general elections to promote an environment conducive to free and fair voting. He stressed the importance of embracing tolerance, diversity, and integrity, highlighting that it is the responsibil ity of every Ghanaian to contribute to creating a brighter and more peaceful future.
