Takoradi: Captain One Golf Society, in collaboration with the Takoradi Sports Club, has initiated the C1GS Kids Project aimed at nurturing young talents in Takoradi.
According to Ghana News Agency, the project focuses on discovering young talents, with participants from the Egyam Children's Home and local communities receiving training from resident professional golfers. In a statement read on his behalf, Mr. Pius Ayeh Appiah, President of the Captain One Golf Society, expressed excitement about the initiative, describing it as the beginning of an impactful journey.
Mr. Appiah emphasized Captain One's commitment to making golf accessible to all, particularly children, to kindle their interest early and foster their development into professional players. He encouraged the children to embrace the sport wholeheartedly and dispel the notion that golf is exclusive to society's elite.
He also mentioned that the Captain One Golf Society plans to continue supporting talented but underprivileged golfers. Mr. Appiah urged corporate bodies, civil society organizations, and individuals to back the initiative.
Mr. Solomon Harvey, Competition Secretary of Captain One Golf Society, advised the children to dedicate themselves fully to the sport. He highlighted the discipline, punctuality, and health benefits associated with playing golf.
