Book Revives Kofi Annan’s Legacy as a ‘Voice of Peace’

Accra: The Global African Heritage Foundation has launched a book celebrating the legacies of the late Kofi Annan, former UN Secretary-General, for championing global peace and unity. Titled 'Echoing the Voice of Peace: Quotes of Busumuru Kofi Annan,' the book curates his most profound quotes, reflecting insights on sustainable peace, conflict prevention, human rights, social justice, democracy, and more.

According to Ghana News Agency, Mr. Kojo Yankah, Founder of the Pan African Heritage Museum, launched the book at the Kofi Annan International Peacekeeping Training Centre in Teshie, Accra, on Tuesday. The book's author, Mr. Peter Panyin Anaman, Founder and Executive Director of the Global African Heritage Foundation, presents 'inspiring quotes' from Kofi Annan, offering readers a vision of a peaceful and harmonious world.

Mr. Anaman told journalists that the book was a call to action for world leaders to promote peace and unity amidst insecurities threatening global stability. 'This book inspires us to work toward a world where every voice is heard, every body count, and every human being is treated with respect and dignity. It challenges us to be a better version of ourselves, to embrace our shared humanity, and to work towards a future where peace, justice, and equality prevail,' he said.

Mr. Yankah said 'the voice of Kofi Annan is not heard enough' and encouraged the author to simplify the book to 50 pages for distribution in schools to inspire students to adopt Kofi Annan's character.
