Berekum West MP Urges Support for National Sanitation Day

Berekum: Mr. Dickson Kwabena Kyere Duah, the Member of Parliament for Berekum West in the Bono Region, has called on Ghanaians to support the re-introduction of the National Sanitation Day (NSD). He emphasized that maintaining a clean environment would help prevent the spread of communicable diseases and enhance the health and overall wellbeing of the community.

According to Ghana News Agency, Mr. Duah made these remarks during a clean-up exercise at the Jinijini Health Center, which was organized to mark the NSD in Jinijini, the constituency capital. The MP highlighted that the government has re-introduced and strengthened the NSD initiative to bolster sanitation and proper waste management across the country.

Mr. Collins Asomah, the Berekum West District Chief Executive, praised the MP for leading the clean-up effort and expressed gratitude to the constituents for their substantial participation. He noted that, with the MP’s support, the clean-up exercise is scheduled to take place on the first Saturday of every month to promote environmental cleanliness and prevent disease outbreaks.

Mr. Marvin Boateng, the Berekum West District Environmental Health Officer, also commended the stakeholders and participants, urging them to continue supporting the MP and the Assembly in maintaining the clean-up activities for the benefit of the people.
