Assin North DCE Embarks on Familiarisation Tour Across District

Assin north: Mr. Sylvester Amakye, District Chief Executive (DCE) for Assin North, along with several Departmental Heads, has embarked on a familiarisation tour to introduce himself to the residents and chiefs of various communities within the district. This initiative aims to bring local governance closer to the people and address the issues faced by the towns in the region.

According to Ghana News Agency, the communities visited during this tour included Assin Endwa, Akonfudi, Kushea, Praso Bereku, among others. The DCE identified several issues such as poor road networks, lack of potable drinking water, absence of electricity, inadequate toilet facilities, and dilapidated school buildings across many of these communities.

Mr. Amakye assured school authorities and community leaders that plans were being developed to rehabilitate the school buildings that had become hazardous. He also addressed the shortage of teachers and furniture, stating that newly posted teachers would be assigned to schools with deficits and that furniture would be provided accordingly.

During his visit to Assin Kushea, the DCE engaged with Ahunabobrim Pra Agyensaim VI, the Paramount Chief of Assin Owirenkyiman Traditional Area. He promised more infrastructure development and job creation for the district's residents. The chief expressed his good wishes for the DCE's efforts and emphasized the importance of prioritizing infrastructure development in education and health sectors.

Additionally, the chief highlighted the need for supporting farmers through the distribution of fertilizers and farm inputs to enhance food production, a move that the Assembly plans to support.
