Affutuakwa: Okumanini Baffour Asare Kyeahene II, Paramount Chief of Affutuakwa Traditional Area, has sent a commiserated message to President John Dramani Mahama and families of the eight helicopter crash victims. He said the tragic incident that happened on Wednesday, August 06, 2025, at Adansi Akrofuom District of the Ashanti Region was a painful loss not only to the bereaved families but the entire nation.
According to Ghana News Agency, the journey the eight gallant men embarked on was to help fight a canker that had eaten deep into the fabric of the nation. They must therefore be honoured for their courage, dedication, and patriotism, Nana Kyeahene added.
He emphasized that as the nation mourns, it should not forget the responsibility to keep the environment safe from illegal mining, which is destroying water bodies and health. Nana Kyeahene urged all well-meaning Ghanaians to rise up to safeguard the country's natural resources and nurture them for posterity, ensuring that the sacrifices made by the heroes were not in vain.
To the affected families, Nana Kyeahene expressed that although their loss was irreplaceable, God would surely help fill the vacuum, and all their dreams and aspirations would come to pass, with the hope that they would never be afflicted again.
