21 Terrorism Suspects Apprehended in Southeastern Niger

Zinder: The Nigerien army announced the arrest of 21 individuals suspected of terrorism on July 13, as they traveled in five vehicles in the Zinder region in the southeast of the country.

According to Ghana News Agency, a military statement broadcast on national television detailed that initial checks revealed 13 of the suspects are foreign nationals, while the remaining eight are Nigerien citizens.

A thorough search of the vehicles uncovered items with potential military use. These included camouflage gear, communication equipment, surveillance devices, fuel containers, cash, and a substantial quantity of food supplies, as reported in the statement.

The suspects, along with the confiscated materials, have been transferred to Niamey. They have been handed over to the relevant authorities for further investigation, ensuring that the matter is thoroughly examined and addressed.
