Dambai: Two friends, rushing to attend a court session, were involved in a fatal accident, resulting in the death of the pillion rider, Kofi Peeh, at the accident site. The rider, Attah Kwasi, is in critical condition and fighting for survival, as described by hospital sources.

According to Ghana News Agency, the tragic incident occurred in the farming community of Yariga No. 2, within the Krachi East Municipality. The duo was on their way to a court session in Dambai, the capital of the Oti Region, when the crash took place. A disagreement later ensued at the Dambai Polyclinic between police officers and the deceased's family regarding whether the body should be preserved for investigation or released for burial.

Ultimately, the police decision prevailed, and Kofi Peeh's body was transported to the WoraWora Government Hospital. Meanwhile, Attah Kwasi, who was riding the motorbike, has been transferred to the Nkwanta South Hospital for further treatment. Madam Edem Nayo, a family member, expressed concern over Kwasi's condition, noting that medical personnel are working to stabilize him.

Family members at the polyclinic were left in shock, grappling with the reality of the tragic accident. Both men were defendants in an ongoing case at the district court, which they were en route to before the unfortunate incident. The police have yet to determine the cause of the accident.
