ANLOGA: The youth of Anloga Municipal in the Volta Region took to the streets in a demonstration against the murder of Madam Dorcas Korkor Tettey, a well-known restaurant owner, whose death has sent shockwaves through the community. The peaceful protest aimed to demand justice and call for an end to violence in the area.
According to Ghana News Agency, the demonstration drew hundreds of participants, including local chiefs, who marched through Anloga's streets carrying placards and banners denouncing the killing as senseless. The protesters, dressed predominantly in black and red, chanted slogans and sang songs, expressing their grief and frustration over the incident.
Mr. Silas Aidam, a youth leader, delivered a petition on behalf of the demonstrators, urging local police authorities to expedite investigations into the murder of the 54-year-old Madam Tettey. The petition, signed by Togbi Zewu IV, the 'Dufia of Anloga,' underscored the community's demand for a thorough and impartial probe into the circumstances surrounding her death on December 28, 2024. Mr. Aidam noted that signs of forced entry and strangulation had been observed at the crime scene.
Madam Tettey, known for her generosity and kindness, was a respected figure in Anloga, and her untimely demise has left residents in grief. The youth have called for swift apprehension and prosecution of those responsible for the crime, urging the police to provide protection and support to her family.
The police have confirmed the launch of an investigation, though no arrests have been made to date. They have assured the community that efforts are underway to bring the perpetrators to justice.
