According to ghana news agency:ccording to Ghana News Agency, Mr. Gunu made these remarks during the launch of this year's Yam Festival of the chiefs and people of the Asogli State in Ho. He encouraged attendees to use the festival as an opportunity to reflect on shared values, deepen collaboration, and renew their commitment to enhancing the peace and prosperity of both the region and the nation.
The festival, themed 'Together in Honesty and Purpose, We Build a Just, Peaceful and Prosperous Nation', resonates with the aspirations of the government and the people of the Volta Region. Mr. Gunu noted that the theme serves as a reminder of the collective responsibility, truth, and shared progress that the festival symbolizes beyond the rich symbolism of the yam.
He praised Togbe Afede XIV, the Agbogbomefia of the Asogli State, and the Asogli State Council for their leadership and dedication in keeping the festival vibrant and relevant. In support of the festival, Mr. Gunu donated GHC10,000.00 to aid its celebration.
Togbe Adzie Lakle Howusu XII, the Warlord of Asogli State, highlighted the festival's focus on promoting peace, love, and unity-key elements for enhancing development. He affirmed that the people of Ho and the broader Asogli community are peace-loving and value unity, as they share a common goal.
