Volta Regional House of Chiefs Expresses Sorrow Over Adansi Helicopter Crash

Accra: The Volta Regional House of Chiefs has issued a statement expressing deep sorrow following the recent helicopter crash at Adansi Akrofuom in the Ashanti Region. The tragic incident resulted in the loss of eight lives, including that of the Minister for Defence, Dr. Edward Omane Boamah.

According to Ghana News Agency, the statement was signed by Togbe Tepre Hodo IV, the President of the Volta Regional House of Chiefs. It conveyed profound shock upon hearing the news and extended heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims. The House of Chiefs, representing both the chiefs and citizens of the Volta Region, offered their sincere sympathies to those affected by the tragic event.

Togbe Tepre Hodo IV also included prayers in the statement, hoping for comfort and protection for the grieving families and eternal peace for the souls of the departed. Furthermore, he extended sympathy to President John Dramani Mahama, the government, the ruling party, and the entire nation, acknowledging the widespread impact of the tragedy.

The helicopter crash, which occurred on August 6, involved a military aircraft carrying two ministers of state, three crew members, and others. The delegation was on its way to Obuasi to participate in the launch of the Responsible Cooperative Mining and Skills Development Programme when the aircraft went down in the Sikaman Forest near Adansi Akrofuom.
