Ukraine’s Zelensky Announces Plans for Expanded Drone and Missile Strikes on Russia

Kyiv: Ukrainian President, Volodymyr Zelensky, warned on Monday that Kiev plans to expand its drone and missile strikes to additional Russian regions. 'The capabilities for long-range strikes are a component of our independence, and will be the most important component in guaranteeing peace,' he said in his evening video message. He added that military leaders had discussed strike targets through the end of the year, including a 'geographical expansion' of attacks.

According to Ghana News Agency, a day before this announcement, Zelensky had acknowledged a 'technical problem' with the production of the long-planned Ukrainian cruise missiles known as Flamingo. Despite these setbacks, Ukraine has been resisting the Russian invasion for more than three and a half years, carrying out repeated strikes deep into Russian territory, primarily with drones.

Russian authorities reported on Saturday that they had intercepted a large-scale Ukrainian drone attack on Moscow.
