Trump Asserts Ukraine Capable of Reclaiming Territory Amid Ongoing Conflict

New york city: U.S. President Donald Trump announced on social media that Ukraine, bolstered by European and NATO support, is poised to reclaim all of its territory amidst the ongoing conflict with Russia. This declaration indicates a stark change in the U.S. administration's stance, as Trump had previously urged Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to consider concessions to broker a ceasefire with Russia, citing Ukraine's weak negotiating position.

According to Ghana News Agency, Trump's statement came in the wake of his evolving understanding of the military and economic dynamics between Ukraine and Russia. He emphasized the potential for Ukraine to regain its original borders with the backing of the European Union and NATO. Trump assured continued U.S. support in supplying weapons to NATO, allowing them to take necessary actions.

During a meeting with Zelensky at the United Nations General Assembly in New York, Trump suggested that NATO countries should respond decisively to any Russian aircraft violating their airspace. This follows Estonia's complaint to the UN Security Council about an alleged incursion by Russian MiG-31 fighters into its airspace, which Russia has denied, attributing the accusation to Russophobia.

China's deputy permanent representative to the United Nations, Geng Shuang, has called for calm and restraint among the involved parties, advocating for dialogue to prevent further escalation of the situation.
