Tema: Mr. Ludwig Teye Totimeh, the Tema West Municipal Chief Executive, has extended his congratulations to all candidates of the 2025 West African Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) within the municipality, acknowledging their successful completion of second cycle education. Mr. Totimeh, along with the municipal education director and other officials, embarked on a tour of the various Senior High Schools in the jurisdiction to inspire and motivate the final-year students undertaking the WASSCE to strive for excellence.
According to Ghana News Agency, a total of 1,656 candidates, comprising 969 girls and 687 boys, from three senior high schools-Tema Secondary School, Lashibi SHS, and Corpus Christi School-are participating in the examination within the municipality. In an interview, the MCE assured the students of his support and emphasized the responsibility of prominent figures in society to inspire the younger generation to take their future seriously and aim for high positions.
Mr. Totimeh encouraged the students by sharing his own educational journey, stating, "We were once like you, and we went through our education as you are doing now. The future has a lot for you, so I will urge all of you to excel. Know that you're not alone in this journey; we are with you both in physical and in spirit. Don't be afraid; fight the good fight by coming out with flying colours to make the municipality proud."
During his visit to Tema Secondary School, he urged the students to embody the school's motto, "Nothing But The Best." He further commended Lashibi Day SHS (E-block) for consistently achieving excellent grades and encouraged the current candidates to continue building on the legacy of their predecessors to enhance the school's reputation.
At Corpus Christi, Mr. Totimeh highlighted the significance of addressing all questions in both elective and core subjects, stressing that both are crucial in shaping the candidates' future career paths.
