Tema: The Tema Regional Police Command has successfully apprehended two suspects involved in a robbery targeting a businessman in Ashaiman, located in the Greater Accra Region.
According to Ghana News Agency, Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Dede Dzakpasu, who serves as the Public Affairs Officer for the Tema Regional Police Command, issued a statement detailing the incident. The robbery occurred on February 26, 2025. The police swiftly arrested one suspect, Karim Fatao, on the day of the crime. The second suspect, Wonder Babanawo, notorious for a string of robberies in Ashaiman and parts of Tema, was captured on March 29, 2025.
The police command reported that a search conducted on the suspects yielded a Ruger pistol loaded with 15 rounds of ammunition, 30 mobile phone covers, six SIM cards, a quantity of dried plant material suspected to be Indian hemp, one Samsung tablet, and three copies of land indenture.
It was further disclosed that Fatao appeared in court on March 3, 2025, and was subsequently remanded into police custody. Babanawo remains in police custody and is expected to be presented in court to face charges soon.
