Techiman: The Techiman Catholic Diocese has ordained five priests into the priesthood of the diocese. They are The Revered Lawrence Acheampong Ayori, Rev Kenneth Ebenezer Afful, Rev Isaac Lamanum, Rev Solomon Akunduya, and Rev Isaac Nana Yeboah.
According to Ghana News Agency, Most Rev Dominic Yeboah Nyarko, the Catholic Bishop of Techiman Diocese, officiated the ordination ceremony at Atebubu. He advised the newly ordained priests to adhere to their divine call, encouraging them to draw inspiration from the biblical figure Jeremiah, known for separating himself from the desires of man. Rev Nyarko emphasized the belief that God has a plan for each individual from the moment of conception, choosing them for divine ministry.
Rev Nyarko urged the priests to serve with humility and diligence, both before God and man. He highlighted that they would encounter various professionals in their ministry and advised them to let humility be their hallmark. He stressed the importance of surrendering and consecrating their lives to God while working under senior priests.
He encouraged the new priests to utilize their training to nurture God's children, asserting that they have been adequately prepared for this task. Rev Nyarko also charged them to remain prayerful, hardworking, and diligent as they embark on a ministry of selflessness, urging them to avoid corruption, bickering, and backbiting.
The ordination ceremony brought together priests from within the diocese, along with family members, friends, church members, traditional authorities, and opinion leaders. Mr Francis Owusu Antwi, the Bono East Regional Minister, was also in attendance at the event, which was held at the Atebubu St Patrick Roman Catholic Church.
