Sunyani: Forty people with various health conditions received free surgeries over the weekend at the Chiraa Government Hospital in the Sunyani West Municipality of the Bono Region. This initiative was aimed at improving the health status of the patients and was made possible by the sponsorship of the Suncity Group of Companies, which operates Suncity Radio.
According to Ghana News Agency, the beneficiaries, including two children, were treated for conditions such as hernia, fibroid, lipomas, and hydrocele. Dr. Philip Anokye, the Clinical Coordinator at the Chiraa Government Hospital, highlighted the hospital's need for expansion and updated medical equipment. He noted the facility faces challenges such as limited space and wards and called for support to complete abandoned surgical and maternity ward projects.
Dr. Anokye expressed gratitude to the Suncity Group of Companies for their ongoing support and urged corporate bodies, NGOs, and religious organizations to assist. He emphasized that with expansion, the hospital could better serve the growing population and improve health outcomes.
Mr. Ransford Antwi, CEO of the Suncity Group of Companies, stated that the surgeries align with the company's medical outreach goals to support vulnerable individuals in accessing quality healthcare. He acknowledged the contributions of partners and individuals and reaffirmed the company's dedication to providing healthcare access to deprived communities for better health outcomes.
