Ouagadougou: SONABEL, the Power Producing Company of Burkina Faso, is set to initiate the controlled spillage of water from the Bagre Dam starting Wednesday, August 27, 2025.
According to Ghana News Agency, the Water Resources Commission of Ghana has informed stakeholders about an update from SONABEL concerning the water level of the Bagre Dam. As of Friday, August 22, 2025, the dam's water level is recorded at 233.98 meters, with a filling rate of 86.38 percent.
The controlled release of water is scheduled to commence from Wednesday, August 27, 2025. Communities located along the White Volta River and surrounding areas have been advised to take necessary precautions and follow safety guidelines issued by local assemblies and relevant agencies.
