Seven Nursing Mothers and Four Pregnant Students Participate in BECE in Bia East

Bia East: Seven nursing mothers and four pregnant girls are participating in this year's Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) in the Bia East District of the Western North Region. This unique situation highlights the challenges faced by young mothers and pregnant students in their pursuit of education.

According to Ghana News Agency, the examinations have also seen the absence of 17 candidates, comprising 10 boys and seven girls, across the four designated centres in the district. Despite these absences, the examination process has been described as smooth by Mr. Patrick Boadi, the Bia East District Examination Officer.

Mr. Boadi commended the invigilators and stakeholders for their professionalism and dedication, ensuring that the examinations are conducted fairly and efficiently. He noted that their efforts have contributed significantly to the smooth conduct of the exams.

A total of 929 candidates from 30 public and nine private schools registered for the 2025 BECE in the district, marking a significant participation rate despite some of the challenges faced by students.
