Sekondi-Takoradi Residents Flock to Beaches for Easter Monday Festivities

Sekondi-Takoradi: Residents of Sekondi-Takoradi on Easter Monday gathered in large numbers at the Vienna and Alan beaches, celebrating the festive occasion with family, friends, and loved ones.

According to Ghana News Agency, the beaches were bustling with activity as bars, restaurants, and pubs along the coastlines were packed with holidaymakers. Many visitors took to swimming and dancing to contemporary Ghanaian music, enjoying the vibrant atmosphere of the day. Security personnel were also visibly present, ensuring the safety and protection of the revellers.

Mr. Kofi Amuzu, a holidaymaker at the event, expressed his joy at spending quality time with his family. He stated, “Work and other things do not permit me to spend a time like this with my children, so on a day like this, I thought it was in order that we come here to have fun.” He also praised the beach operators for the security measures in place to safeguard the holidaymakers.

Mrs. Elizabeth Gyamfua, another attendee, mentioned that visiting the beach on Easter Mondays has become an annual tradition for her family. In addition, hawkers capitalized on the occasion, selling food, refreshments, and various items to the beachgoers.
