Sege: Mr Daniel Keshi Bessey, Member of Parliament (MP) for Sege, has called on assembly members in the Ada West District to endorse the District Chief Executive (DCE) nominee appointed by President John Dramani Mahama. He emphasized that endorsing the nominee would expedite development in the district and urged members not to let political differences or misinformation hinder progress. 'I'm pleading with all assembly members to make the president proud by endorsing the nominee,' he stated.
According to Ghana News Agency, some assembly members contacted Mr Bessey about a purported list of preferred individuals allegedly published by the caucus of Members of Parliament of the National Democratic Congress in the Greater Accra region. Mr Bessey denied having any influence over the nominee's appointment, dismissing such claims as mere speculations.
He reminded the assembly members that leadership involves timing and fairness, encouraging them to treat others as they would want to be treated in similar situations. 'Today is someone's time; tomorrow might be yours. Let's be guided by respect and unity,' he added.
The Sege MP also appealed for calm and peaceful proceedings before, during, and after the confirmation, which is scheduled for Wednesday, May 14, 2025. 'I urge all assembly members to ensure peace and decorum during the DCE confirmation exercise,' he said.
