Prophet Jehu-Appiah Akaboha IV Urges Believers to Obey God’s Words for Blessings

Accra: Prophet Moknajeeba Jehu-Appiah Akaboha IV, the General Head Prophet of the Musama Disco Christo Church (The Army of the Cross of Christ), has urged his members to listen to God's servants and obey God's words to attract His blessings. "Let us commit ourselves by obeying His word, walking in faith and doing things that lead to purity of our hearts such as praying and worshiping," he stated.

According to Ghana News Agency, Prophet Akaboha made the call at a thanksgiving service to mark the celebration of 100 years of the 'Asomdwee Afe' Peace Festival at Gomoa Mosanu, the headquarters of the Church. He emphasized that the church of God must continue to intensify and pursue integrity and purity of heart to help reap untold testimonies, even amid all the raging chaos and uncertainties in the world.

The ceremony began with a review and procession from the Holy Place to the Jubilee Temple and Onyawonsu, a sacred place of the church. The 2025 Asomdwee Afe marked 100 years since the inception of the Church in 1925, celebrated with activities including prayers for the peace of the country, devotions, anniversary potluck, exhortations, intercessory prayer, and a float within the Musanu township.

A candlelight procession, anniversary vigil, Akaboha II memorial service, and a book launch were also part of the celebration. Held on the theme: 'Blessed are the pure in Heart,' (Matthew 5-8), all sermons and exhortations during the period were based on the verse. Prophet Akaboha stated that the Asomdwee Afe was given through a revelation by the Holy Spirit at a naming ceremony of Prophet Mathapoly, when he was one week old on Sunday, August 31, 1924.

Members of the Musama Church have annually celebrated his coming into the World, with the first Asomdwee Afe (Peace year) celebrated in August 1925, when he was a year old. The celebration last year was dedicated to the memory of their rare-born former leader, Prophet Mathapoly Moses Jehu-Appiah, marking the 100-year anniversary of his birth in fulfillment of the prophecy.

Prophet Akaboha expressed gratitude for Christ's guidance, urging believers to praise and thank God with approved hearts. "May that sign of God's rich love for Musama fill us with love towards each other, towards the church, and our beloved nation," he added.

In an interview with the Ghana News Agency, Pastor Kwesi Begyina, the General Secretary of the Church, reiterated the importance of peace in every human being's life and encouraged the youth to embrace peace and refrain from activities that could disrupt the country's peace. He urged all Ghanaians to continue praying for peace and national cohesion.
