Lambussie: Over 2,000 farmers in the Lambussie District have received support to boost crop production and enhance agricultural productivity in the area. The initiative targets farmers affected by last year's drought, aiming for a better yield this season.
According to Ghana News Agency, the support package includes agrochemicals, improved maize seeds, and fertilizers to boost agricultural productivity and crop yields. Mr. Naawulle Ireneous Basingbie, the Lambussie District Chief Executive, emphasized the importance of agriculture as a driving force behind national development. He highlighted the need to prioritize the sector to ensure sustainable growth and food security.
The DCE expressed a commitment to collaborating with the 'Feed Ghana Programme' to transform the agriculture sector and support farmers. He noted that these initiatives would build a sustainable and inclusive agricultural sector, ensuring food security and driving economic growth and prosperity in the district and beyond.
Mr. Nambie Nathaniel Zim-meeweh, the Lambussie District Director of Agriculture, encouraged beneficiaries to leverage the initiative to increase productivity and crop yields for the season. He noted that the initiative would help farmers recover losses from the previous year and promote local economic development.
Beneficiaries expressed gratitude for the support, which they believe will help increase their crop production and improve their livelihoods.
