Shama: Mr. Paul Otis Dentu, the Shama District Chief Executive, has embarked on a familiarisation tour of various companies within the district. The visit was aimed at introducing himself as the new Chief Executive to the businesses, seeking their opinions on advancing growth, and sharing his vision for the district's development.
According to Ghana News Agency, Mr. Dentu emphasized the importance of infrastructure, environmental sustainability, and sanitation in his growth plan for the district. He proposed the re-introduction of a scholarship scheme for needy but high IQ students to bolster the district's human resources. During his tour, he visited notable institutions such as WAPCO, VRA, and ZEAL Environmentalist.
Mr. Dentu also announced the introduction of a district-specific sanitation day, aligning with the national response to control filth and prevent disease outbreaks. He called for the support of citizens and businesses to collaborate in making the district a key industrial hub of the region.
Mr. Richard Blevi, the Coordinator for the Assembly, highlighted the importance of the visit in resolving challenges and aligning the companies' social responsibilities with community development goals. Meanwhile, Mr. Kweku Ennin, Founder of ZEAL Environmentalist, expressed gratitude for the ongoing partnership between the companies and the Assembly, pledging continued commitment to its advancement.
