Sunyani: Odeneho Dr Afram Brempong III, the Paramount Chief of the Suma Traditional Area in the Jaman North District, was elected as a member of the Council of State for the Bono Region. The election, conducted and supervised by the Electoral Commission in Sunyani, concluded with Odeneho Dr Brempong III securing 16 votes out of 24 valid votes.
According to Ghana News Agency, other candidates in the election included Nana Aful Kyere, who received four votes, while Umar Adam Sulemana and Nicholas Saddari each garnered two votes. Dominic Adu-Gyimah, Nana Ankamah Bosomtwe II, Mary Nana Adjeiwaa, Daniel Owusu Brempong, and Eric Kofi Appiah did not receive any votes. The initial number of contestants was reduced to nine following the withdrawal of Peter Kwadwo Ackom.
Odeneho Dr Brempong III expressed his gratitude to the delegates for their trust in his leadership. He emphasized his dedication to leveraging his experience in academia and the business sector to serve the region effectively.
