NSA Volta Engages Regional Minister on Sports Development

Accra: The Volta Regional Directorate of the National Sports Authority (NSA) has initiated discussions with the Volta Regional Minister to enhance collaboration for sports development in the region. This move is aimed at leveraging sports as a tool for youth development and community engagement.According to Ghana News Agency, the visit served as an introduction of the newly appointed Regional Director, Madam Philipina Frimpong, and the Planning and Evaluation Officer, Mr. Dzidodo Ruben Adjahoe. Their leadership is expected to spearhead strategic initiatives to boost sports administration and infrastructure throughout the Volta Region.Discussions during the meeting focused on the establishment of district and regional clubs and teams to compete at both regional and national levels. This initiative aims to strengthen talent identification, athlete development, and enhance regional competitiveness in various sporting disciplines.The NSA also proposed the introduction of an annual Regional Sports Awards to recognize and honor outstanding athletes, coaches, and stakeholders. The awards scheme is intended to provide motivation, inspire participation, and celebrate excellence in sports across the region.The Regional Minister, Mr. James Gunu, expressed his appreciation for the Authority's vision and assured them of his full support. This aligns with the government's reset agenda, which emphasizes sports as a key component for youth development, community engagement, and fostering regional pride.With this renewed partnership, NSA Volta is poised to collaborate with the Minister and other stakeholders to establish sustainable structures that will transform sports in the region and elevate its presence on the national stage.
