Kumasi: Nana Nkansah Boadu Ayeboafo, the Chief of Nzema in the Kwadaso Municipality, has officially submitted his nomination to contest for the position of Ashanti Regional representative in the upcoming Council of State elections. The traditional leader personally submitted his nomination forms at the Electoral Commission's regional office in Kumasi, preparing to participate in the elections scheduled for Tuesday, February 11, 2025.
According to Ghana News Agency, Nana Nkansah Boadu was accompanied by notable figures, including Bafour Kantankrankyi, the linguist of Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, Mrs. Mavis Nkansah Boadu, Member of Parliament for Afigya Sekyere East Constituency, and other influential traditional leaders. Bafour Kantankrankyi expressed the chiefs' support for Nana Nkansah Boadu, stating that he is considered the ideal candidate to represent Asanteman at the Council of State. He highlighted Nana Nkansah Boadu's wisdom, leadership qualities, and commitment to development as key attributes making him suitable for the role.
Bafour Kantankrankyi urged assembly members across the region to vote in favor of Nana Nkansah Boadu, emphasizing the potential benefits his victory could bring to the Ashanti Region. Nana Yaw Wiredu, the Assembly Member for Ahensan Estate and Presiding Member of Asokwa Municipal Assembly, echoed this sentiment. He called on his fellow assembly members to support Nana Nkansah Boadu, emphasizing the need for a representative who understands and can effectively articulate the region's needs. He described Nana Nkansah Boadu as a visionary leader and a strong advocate for development.
The Electoral Commission has announced that the Council of State elections will be held on Tuesday, February 11, 2025, with specific venues to be disclosed later.
