NADMO Plants Trees to Re-Green Awiakrom Primary School

Awiakrom: The Dormaa West District Directorate of the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO) has undertaken a tree planting initiative at the Awiakrom District Assembly Primary School to promote greenery and environmental sustainability.

According to Ghana News Agency, Mr. Daniel Naawinkoma, the Dormaa West District Director of NADMO, stated that the initiative was launched by the Bono Regional office of NADMO. The program mandates selecting at least one school in each district for tree planting. Mr. Naawinkoma praised the regional office for the initiative and urged stakeholders and community leaders to support the government's tree planting exercise.

Mr. Naawinkoma emphasized the crucial role of trees, noting that they produce oxygen essential for life, contribute to environmental beautification, and provide shade. He stressed the importance of protecting and nurturing the trees, stating, "When the last tree dies, the last man dies also," and called on community leaders, families, school children, and teachers to take part in this effort.

Mr. Adama Aziz, the Assembly Member for Asuopiri West Electoral Area, commended the government, NADMO, and community leaders for selecting Awiakrom for the tree planting exercise. He committed to supporting the nurturing and protection of the trees to ensure the community benefits fully.

Mr. Abraham Dongzagla, the Headmaster of Awiakrom D/A Primary School, expressed gratitude to NADMO and assured them of the school's dedication to caring for the trees.
