Sunyani: Madam Charity Akosua Darko, the Corporate Affairs Manager of MTN Ghana’s Northern Business District, has issued a reminder to customers to remain vigilant against the increasing activities of fraudsters in online transactions. She emphasized the importance of keeping their MTN Mobile Money (MoMo) codes confidential and cautioned against entertaining calls from unknown numbers.
According to Ghana News Agency, Madam Darko highlighted that MTN MoMo is a secure electronic service that allows users to store funds, send and receive money, make payments, and perform other transactions using their mobile phones. She stressed that the risk of being defrauded is significantly reduced if customers do not share their secret codes, even with MTN officials.
During interactions with media practitioners and journalists at local radio stations in Sunyani, Madam Darko reiterated MTN’s commitment to its customers and encouraged them to remain alert. Her visit included stops at Sompa FM, Service Radio, Ark FM, Radio BAR, and the Ghana News Agency (GNA) Regional Office, aiming to bolster MTN’s relationship with the media and individual journalists.
Madam Darko called on the media to intensify efforts to educate the public about the activities of fraudsters, helping to protect innocent customers from scams. Discussions at the radio stations also touched on issues related to MTN’s mobile service network, MoMo fraud, and data charges.
Station managers at some of these outlets urged MTN to consider opening more branches in Sunyani and the wider Bono Region to better serve the growing customer base.
