Dambai: President John Dramani Mahama concluded his nationwide 'Thank You Tour' at a durbar in Dambai, Oti Region. The tour, which started on January 24 in Ho, aimed to express gratitude to Ghanaians for their support during the December 7, 2024, general elections.
According to Ghana News Agency, President Mahama addressed a large gathering of chiefs and residents at the Dambai College of Education. He outlined a comprehensive road infrastructure plan to enhance the region's connectivity, emphasizing its importance as a transit zone for goods between the north and south of the country.
President Mahama highlighted the Eastern Corridor Road as a priority and assured that the Nkwanta Kpasah-Oti Damanko stretch would not face delays. He noted that contractors were ready to commence work, with assurances of prompt payments upon completion.
The President also mentioned upcoming projects under the Big Push programme, including the construction of the Dambai Bridge over the Oti River and road upgrades in various locations. Additional roads in the region are undergoing technical assessments, with procurement processes to follow.
President Mahama further announced plans for a modern Regional Hospital, a University, and a sports stadium in the Oti Region, demonstrating the government's commitment to regional development.
