KATH Governing Board Meets Asantehene to Introduce New CEO

Kumasi: The members of the governing board of the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) have paid a courtesy call on Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, the Asantehene, at the Manhyia Palace. The purpose of the visit was to formally introduce the newly appointed Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of KATH, Dr. Paa Kwesi Baidoo, to the occupant of the Golden Stool.

According to Ghana News Agency, Dr. Paa Kwesi Baidoo, an orthopedic surgeon, outlined some of the pressing challenges that the hospital is currently facing. He highlighted issues such as ward congestion, unattended visitors' rooms, and the critical need for expansion. Dr. Baidoo expressed his commitment to addressing these challenges effectively and assured the governing board of his intention to take proactive measures to improve the hospital's overall functioning.

The Asantehene offered his blessings and support to the board and the new CEO. The board members present during the meeting included Professor Nana Oheneba Boachie-Adjei, the Chairman of the Board, Annis Maghter, Samuel A. Otoo, Susan Yaa Afram, Prof. A. Antwi Kusi, Prof. Emmanuel Obeng-Agyemang, Dr. Eric Addisson, Ibrahim Asante-Manu, Kwadwo Gyabeng, and Chrissie Abaidoo. The expertise and experiences of these board members are expected to contribute significantly to the continued success and growth of KATH.
