Kadjebi: The Kadjebi District Health Directorate in the Oti Region has reported 55 HIV/AIDS cases for the year 2024. The cases comprised 41 females and 14 males, as revealed by Mr. Eric Nana Takyi, the Kadjebi District Director of Health Services, during the 2024 Annual Performance Review Meeting in Kadjebi.
According to Ghana News Agency, Mr. Takyi also highlighted that 262 patients are currently receiving Antiretroviral Therapy (ART). He urged residents, particularly women, to be cautious regarding their sexual orientation due to a higher susceptibility to the virus compared to men.
In terms of maternal health, Mr. Takyi noted that the district achieved zero maternal deaths for three consecutive years. He further mentioned that the Kadjebi District earned the second position in the Oti Region during the 2023 Districts Performance Review Meeting and was recognized as the Best Maternalcare District in the region.
Additionally, thirty staff members were honored for their significant contributions to healthcare delivery within the district.
