ACCRA: Dr. Joseph Siaw Agyepong, Executive Chairman of the Jospong Group of Companies, marked the beginning of the new year with a significant act of charity, reaching out to approximately 4,000 community members. The event, held at his residence in East Legon, Accra, featured the distribution of food items and other gifts as part of his ongoing philanthropic efforts.
According to Ghana News Agency, the beneficiaries of Dr. Agyepong's generosity included the elderly, women, and youth, who were provided with essential items such as bags of rice, cooking oil, soft drinks, canned fish, and cash. This charitable gesture aligns with Dr. Agyepong's dedication to supporting underprivileged communities and spreading joy during festive seasons.
Madam Emma Adwoa Appiaa Osei-Duah, Director of Communications and Corporate Affairs at Zoomlion Ghana Limited, emphasized the significance of this initiative as part of Dr. Agyepong's 'people-centered approach and commitment to giving back to society.' She noted that the outreach has grown over the years, beginning as a small neighborhood initiative and now reaching thousands. "Dr. Agyepong and his family do this to share their joy in the year with the less-privileged," she stated.
The event also included a spiritual component, with Pastor Daniel Danso, Chaplain of Jospong Group of Companies, leading a praise and worship session. Dr. Agyepong, known for his devout Christian beliefs, sees these acts of kindness as a means to bring people closer to Christ. In addition to his charitable work, Dr. Agyepong is a successful entrepreneur with business interests in sectors such as waste management, ICT, and banking.
