Holy Child Senior High School Launches 80th Anniversary Celebration in Accra

Accra: Holy Child Senior High School in Cape Coast has launched her 80th Anniversary celebration in Accra. The event, which attracted old students and well-wishers, served as an opportunity for socializing, celebrating the school's academic and transformative achievements, and raising funds for more on-campus projects, among other activities.

According to Ghana News Agency, Mrs. Mary Brown, National Vice President of the Holy Child Old Students Association, stated that the commemoration of the anniversary serves as a reminder to honor the legacy of the school's founders. Over eight decades, their efforts have empowered many women and girls through education. "As we embark on this journey, we honor the legacy of our founders, who envisioned a school that would empower young women to make a difference in the world. Today we celebrate the countless lives that have been touched, minds that have been expanded, and futures shaped by our institution," she said.

Madam Linda Appiah, the Headmistress, praised the school's alumni for their contributions to the infrastructure and logistical progress of the school. She urged them to do more in order to make the school more self-sufficient. "Our Science Laboratories need further restocking with tools and equipment. The school's regimental band cannot boast of any instruments. We have to borrow or rent instruments from sister schools whenever the band has to perform. In the area of sports, our facilities and equipment are calling for a complete replacement. We cannot also lose track of the fact that the school has been blessed with the state-of-the-art ultra-modern library. Let's all remember that every contribution, every ounce of support brings us closer to the Holy Child School we all want to see," she said.

Madam Isabel Boateng, the guest of honor, encouraged all old students to give back to the school that had made them what they are today.
