Group Raises Concern Over Filth, Non-Functioning Streetlights in Wiawso

Wiawso: The Western North Solidarity Movement, a group in the Western North Region, has expressed worry over the state of filth and non-functioning streetlights within Sefwi-Wiawso, the regional capital.

According to Ghana News Agency, a statement signed by Lieutenant Colonel (Retired) Anthony Aduhene, and copied to the agency, criticized the authorities in the capital for neglecting their responsibility to maintain cleanliness and safety in the area. The statement highlighted that the lack of good sanitation, inadequate street lighting, clogged drainage systems, and poor maintenance of inner-city roads are significant threats to the residents.

The group has made an appeal to the Wiawso Municipal Assembly, urging them to address these issues to ensure the health and safety of the community. The statement emphasized the need for immediate action to reverse the deteriorating situation and improve the living conditions in Sefwi-Wiawso.
