Ghana@68: Wa Municipal NCCE Celebrates Independence with Educational Quiz

According to Ghana News Agency:ccording to Ghana News Agency, the quiz focused on the 1992 Republican Constitution, current affairs, and the first quarter activities of the Wa Municipal NCCE. The aim was to familiarize students with the Constitution and current national events, while fostering civic awareness and a sense of responsibility. Addressing the students, Mr. Nurideen Mumuni, Wa Municipal Director of NCCE, emphasized the importance of instilling good citizenship and nationalism in the younger generation to uphold the nation's independence, sovereignty, and democracy.

Mr. Nurideen also highlighted Ghana's commitment to peace, stability, and democracy since 1992, which has garnered admiration globally. He acknowledged the efforts of Ghanaians in overcoming electoral challenges and contributing to a peaceful election process anticipated in 2024. Mr. Victor Elikplim Nuworkpor, Upper West Regional Director of NCCE, stated that the quiz would help children understand Ghana's political history and the significance of the 1992 Constitution in safeguarding democracy.

Ms. Bridget Gandaa, an Assistant Director at the Wa Municipal Assembly, praised the NCCE and Ghana Education Service for their dedication to nurturing nationalism among the youth. She reiterated that education is vital for national development and that the quiz promotes learning, national awareness, and intellectual growth. Reflecting on Ghana's 68 years of independence, she encouraged embracing the present and envisioning a brighter future.

Mr. Suleyman Mujeeb, Public Relations Officer of the Wa Municipal Education Directorate, noted that the competition would boost students' confidence and learning abilities, and motivate them to integrate the Constitution into their daily lives and academic pursuits. Participants expressed gratitude for the opportunity to learn about the Constitution and Ghana's history. All participating schools received exercise books, pens, and copies of the 1992 Constitution.
